Advice for Witches Bottle
By:
For my Witches Bottle/jar I'm thinking using: Obsidian, Lapis, Pyrite, Cobalt blue glass jar, old square nails, pins, thorns, birth paper or spell, iron spike, candles to seal.

The intentions for this is to provide protection inside the home and reflect all negativity and cloak my house from anyone will an ill intent.

My questions are, I'm positive that I'm going to add a mirror, would a black mirror or silver mirror have more desired effects for my Witches Jar? And I feel a calling to add dirt into the jar to place in each window, I was going to infuse graveyard dirt but, now wondering if dirt from the property would function better for my purpose?

Personally, I would not keep a witch bottle in the house. I would bury it either on the property as far from the house as I can or on property far removed from my home. The point of the jar is to remove the ability of someone to attack you by giving a 'dummy' for them to hit. You will need to place articles in the bottle that have dna tags of you for it to hit. Traditionally this has been done with hair, finger nails, and urine.

Then maybe I'm calling it something that it's not. My needs are for shielding and reflecting.

NordStar is correct, Witch Bottles are Dummy Magic - or Decoy Magic, and at times used for removal of negative magic. General rule of thumb is don't keep it in your house - add a personal connection to it - such as blood, hair, nails, urine etc that way when someone is casting against you, it will be drawn to the bottle and the caster will be tormented as you are cleansed from their influence.

If you're wanting a physical object to use for protection, I suggest looking into Wards that are bound to some kind of token - or look into familiar spirits that will provide protection.

Those are but two of hundreds of ways to protect a home from negative magic/ifluence/ill will/intent. Research!
