I have done it once with a dog by accident but how can I practice and be able to do it better

its called borrowing its were you look through the eyes of an animal, I have only done it once by accident and I want to learn how to do it better

How did you do this on accident. That doesn't sound like something you wake up and see from a dogs eyes. Could have been astral projection of some kind. Try general vizualization exercises to help, it gives some where to start.

when I did it I was very conscious, it was a dog a saw a few minuets earlier .

Are you sure you were really doing this or might it have been something that you imagined? It can be easy to confuse the two.

to be honest I cannot be sure but it felt real along with the colours being off.

If you saw colors at all it was likely imagination. Dogs can only see shades of black and white.

While we can't ask dogs to read an eye chart or pick out colors, behavioral tests suggest that dogs see in shades of yellow and blue and lack the ability to see the range of colors from green to red. In other words, dogs see the colors of the world as basically yellow, blue, and gray.

As for the original poster, I don't know a whole lot about borrowing. Since you can't be sure whether or not it was just your imagination, you should look into it more. Just study it so you have a better understanding of it, and analyze your experience to determine whether it was real or imagined.
