Reading Greek Mythology

Hey, so I've been trying to read up on Greek mythology for the first time, and I read the mythology surrounding creation and the war with the titans and Cronus and the like, and the creation of man and Pandora but once I finished that I had no idea where to go from there.. Does anybody know what order to read all the other myths in? I am deeply confused, any help would be appreciated.

Read Edith Hamilton's Mythology. It's filled with wonderful and G-rated stories from the myths. I do like that it has a bunch of myths squeezed into the book (it's quite a big book, too), but sometimes it's sporadic and bounces everywhere. It's still a good source.

You can find free PDFs online:

Or here's a link to the book on Amazon:

Also, I'm kind of a huge Greek geek when it comes to Greek mythology, so you're welcome to mail me any time.

Blessings!

Since you're young, I highly suggest the book my own daughter adores, D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths. It is amazingly illustrated and really brings the stories to life. Another good one is the National Geographic Treasury of Greek Mythology. There is also an animated series called Mythic Warriors that you can find on YouTube that I highly recommend.

I'm not trying to give you "kids" stuff because you're 16 and I think you're a "kid". I'm giving you these resources because they make the stories come to life in a way that impresses them in your mind. I enjoy this stuff, and I'm 28! I wish I had learned with them instead of boring and dry Scholastic books and Hamilton.
