Help??
By:
I've been studying Wicca for about a year but my mother only realized it about 3 months ago. She's catholic and doesn't understand. She thinks that this is just a teenage rebellious phase. Her Attitude towards Wicca makes it very hard for me to study. How do I tell her that its not just a phase but my chosen path??

Become really well informed of your religion, as well as the one you left behind. Don't panic or get upset, but stay calm and tell her why Wicca is what connects to you. Explain the religion, what you like about it, clear her misconceptions, and explain why you didn't agree with Catholicism.

If she still says no, legally she has rights over your spiritual upbringing. There are a variety of things you can do that will prepare you for the future though, and they will help whether or not you still choose to be Wiccan.

try to sit her down and calmly explain everything, the path, why you chose it, and why it speaks to you. if she still is set against it, you need to respect her wishes because she's responsible for you. however, once you're legally and adult, you can go back to the craft and she can't do anything. there is also the option of studying behind her back, but i feel if the path is right for you, a few years won't matter too much. plus there's a lot of subtle things you could study which on the surface don't seem magickal, such as starting a garden, baking, astrology, history, mythology, meditation, candle making, and so on, you could even do volunteer work, or something to help the environment and your community. the divine is all around us, so you can live your life by the Rede and the Threefold Law without having to celebrate the sabbats, esbats, and cast spells. it might be hard, but it's an option, and you should practice what you preach.
