Can things mix

Anyone think a practitioner of white magic and a user of black magic can live in harmony and love one another? Personally I do believe it can.

(Despite my feeling of necessity to smack my head against a large blunt object like a wall, I will indulge the question.) White and black, heads and tails, peanut butter and jelly, up and down, left and right, they are each dependent on the other. Neither is evil, they are simply two sides of the same thing. Magick is magick and I do not personally differentiate between 'white' and 'black', but for those who do I say its simply opposites that depend on each other's existence. Magick isn't evil or good. It is the intent of the user that measures the morality.

So in short, yes. Yin and Yang exist equally and can have a good balance.

If you read the question idiot, I say "user" "practitioner" e.g can someone who uses magic for vengeance or to hurt people get along with someone who uses magic for good.

Yes, people who use what is considered "dark" magic can get along just fine with user of "white" magic.

Disrepctful fluff and experienced practitioners? Not so much.

That's your problem because is there is no good and bad because they're just a moral thing that really means nothing

If I kill someone because they hurt someone I know then I don't think it's evil even though the rest of the world would

If someone nurses a killer back to health the world would think they should have let them die but they think they did a good thing

Good and evil are the most subjective terms in the world because it goes along with the sense of sin which really doesn't exist because we all live our lives by different standards

These are only mental barriers we create to distant ourselves from other human beings.

Disrespectful fluff? I've been practicing magic since I was a child. I come from a family of psychics, and I have the sense to hardly ever use magic in my day to day life.

Newborn was not calling you a fluff, he was stating that any serious practitioner typically does not get along role players that claim their fantasy as reality is all.

As for the question the very first thing I'd like to address is the existence of a "white" or "black" magic practitioner. You obviously comprehend that magic has no color and that the terms are merely moral labels but I would be extremely surprised to find anyone that is entirely one or the other. The issue is that what is "white" magic to one person may be black to another and that in reality very actions that don't affect people both positively and negatively. Morality is not clear cut into black and white but filled with all kinds of shades of grey, magic is the same.

I'd also be hesitant to quite so quickly quick insult Bo as you did, he makes a perfectly true and valid point that "black" magic would not exist without the comparison of "white" magic and vice versa. I realize it can be difficult not to jump to your own defense but it might be worth making sure that you're actually being insulted first.

first, TheFaceOfBo wasn't being an idiot your remarks weren't called for [though his wording was insulting] because he gave you his answer; yes, they can.

second, NewbornChaos wasn't insulting you, he was making a joke. a fluffy and someones who is inexperienced might have trouble co-existing.

in regards to your question, i agree with Zrozex1 and Murfie, while magick has no colour, one person could perceive themselves as a 'white magick practitioner' while another could see their work as 'black magick'.

while i don't know if you follow the Rede, it states 'As it Harm None' and this can be a major debate. a lot of people will see this as the only rule and believe they can do whatever, but if you scratch the surface and use your moral compass, you'll find it's far more complicated. 'Harm None', if you eat meat, you're killing a living thing to eat, some would argue this is harmful and therefore become vegetarians. i've met many vegetarians, while most are fine, i have met some who genuinely think that since i eat meat i'm a heartless monster. it's their morality versus mine. same would go with magick, say you cast a healing spell on someone, while you see it as 'white' someone else might see you forcing your will over another and call it 'black'. same argument could be made for a curse, someone did you wrong, you curse them, some see that as justified and good, others would still see it as wrong and evil.

to get back to your question, it would only become an issue if one party made it an issue. they can co-exist, live together, even love each other, but if one party [or both] keeps picking away at the spells they cast being morally wrong, then it can come crashing down around them.

Black magic, like a "evil" action is when magic is used irrationally, for example to kill without sense, to harm out of passion, if anything isn't needed to live why perform it.
I'm a Stoic and I have a very clear view on what I believe, that to be influenced by your emotions is wrong. (I know it is ironic but I have never sought revenge, also to Murfie, thank you for understanding what I mean by black and white, but I simply mean can a person who acts purely on emotion with no logic or sense, inhabit a space with a person of absolute reason and deliberate action from thought. Without chaos ensuing.
