sbout dark magic....

About dark magick, you should not feel pure evil or hate during a spell, I know some spells seem like the require it, but if you use up your energy from evil energies it will not help you much. That just what I have learned from others in spell casting.

If you're saying that you shouldn't necessarily cast a spell because you are having strong emotions, then I don't really agree. I feel that yes, there are certain times when you want a neutral emotional base, and when you want to be very focused. Though at other times it can be very helpful to have a strong emotion or feeling pushing the spell, adding strength to it.
As well, magick isn't capable of being dark or light - the things that make it so are the views of people, either those casting, or outsiders looking in on the magick. The entire idea of dark and light magick, unless dealing with, say the sun/stars, or shadows/night, cannot really be a full idea.

I would disagree...not sure what you mean by "dark" magic...but if you refer to, for example, sending a curse, one should indeed channel their feelings of rage and hatred into the curse for added potency. As to the "evil" issue, that word is terribly subjective. To me, those who have harmed me to the point that i would place a curse on them are the evil ones.

Yes subjective terms indeed. Evil, dark, right, wrong, good, light, all are subjective terms.

As for strong emotions? I would say you should use that excess energy to your benefit, intent is one of the most crucial things in spells, and in magick. Intent fueled by emotion, or reaction to an action that has transgressed.

So I think strong passionate emotions would most defintely be of aid.

I find that there are no "dark" or "light" types of magic, because every spell is viewed differently by people depending on their faith.

For example... Would healing a murderer be considered dark or light magic? The intention of the spell is pure, to heal a wounded person. However, the ramifications of it are dark, because you're allowing someone who harms other for enjoyment to go about freely.

There is a grey area in every action that is taken, and nothing is purely "dark" or "light".

I enjoy working magic that invokes the power of shadows and the void over magic that is invoked through the power of the full moon or the sun. My magic dwells on the fringes of darkness, but it is not malicious in the slightest. Would my magic be considered dark magic or light magic then?

Just bear in mind that titles mean nothing. It is the intention, and the ramifications of the spell's effect on those whom you cast it on/for.

That being said, you should always put all of your heart and soul into every spell you cast, because the strength of your emotions and the strength of your convictions affect the outcome and strength of the spell itself. Be they feelings of anger, or feelings of sadness or worry, or even feelings of happiness and bliss. Always follow where they lead you in magic.

Just be sure that you're using personal discretion as to which ones could also have negative ramifications as well. Magic in and of itself is a very fickle mistress, and even the most harsh of situations can often be resolved with words and actions over spells and rituals

I have to disagree
If your doing say a curse you want all those bad feelings when you cast it makes it work better. Just the same if your doing say a good luck spell you want all your positive feelings when you cast that.

your exactly right about things neither being light or dark, it was amazing that you knew that. But this is true for most people they like white magick instead of black magick.
