Are ghosts real? Ive heard there are no such thing as ghosts, but there are spirits. Also, can they hurt you? Like can they pick something up or move something? And lastly, are some nice?

Ghosts are real. They are all around us but you can't see them through your naked eyes. Some ghosts can hurt you like vengeful spirits or poltergists in a house. Usually ghosts do not harm the person who sees them. Some good ghosts try to warn strangers of danger. Others attach themselves to children and try to become their friend! Some are less friendly, or evil-minded ghosts. These evil spooks play tricks on people, and push them around. They can also move objects, walk through walls even through people.

Some people in the magical community belive in ghosts, some do not. It's up to you what side you want to take. (Wow, I find myself saying this alot)

However, the people who do beleive mostly accept that ghosts can move objects, go through physical objects (ie. people & walls), make noises, and make strange things happen such as the temperature lowering. Ghosts could hurt you if they wanted but not to a great extent (in most occassions) since they have trouble affecting the physical world.

I would say that some ghosts are nice, although I've never got to know one.

it comes down to faith, but i've dealt with spirits all my life, so yes they are real. 'ghost' is another word for them, but 'spirit' is the actual term. a ghost is something you find hanging in a window on Halloween, a spirit is the remaining energy of a dead person/animal. i was taught initially, a ghost is bound to an object or place, a poltergeist is bound to a person, and a spirit is free to go wherever. now though, i feel better calling everything spirits, even if they're a poltergeist because they mean the same thing.

spirits are just misunderstood, not evil or good. say you walked into your house one day and there's someone there who you've never seen in your life, sitting in your chair watching tv. you ask the person their name and they ignore you. you start asking why they're in your house, again, no reply. as you ask more and more questions, becoming more and more frustrated, they still act as if you aren't there. you begin trying to get their attention any way you know how. eventually, the person reacts to you knocking over they're cup, so you start to move things because there's no other way to get their attention. as a result, the person assumes [if they believe in spirits] there's an evil spirit in their house that needs to be exterminated, when in reality, you're nice, you just want some answers.

i've only ever come across one 'evil' spirit. she didn't like my friend so she followed her around bringing her bad luck so we had to make a luck charm for my friend to keep the spirit away. eventually my friend moved and the spirit left her, but that's it for evil spirits. i have one who is just mischievous. Spirits go through cycles of active and inactive in accordance with the veil between the two worlds and how much energy they need to communicate with us. right now Rori's energy is decreasing so i don't have to worry about too much going on. when he's active, he'll move things, scare my sister or cat, pace around the apartment, make noises, but he does that because he's bored, not because he's evil.

most spirits were people at one point, so their personalities stay similar in death. if you ever come across one, just be nice and ask if it wants anything. talk to the spirit as you would anyone, if it means you harm, or you're afraid of it, nicely ask it to leave, if it refuses, then do a purification.

My take on ghosts: I have had quite a lot of experience with ghosts. What I have come to understand is that as we know, we are composed of several bodies: The physical, Etheric Double, Astral, Mental, Causal, etc. Each body is composed by that divine spark within each of us to function on that appropriate level of existance. When someone dies, the body naturally returns to the world that it comes from. For example, the physical body decays and retuns to the world to be recycled into creation again. This actually happens on each of the bodies except the divine spark, which returns back to the source. As above, so below.

Now, just like the physical body can be kept alive by artificial means, so can the other bodies, usually the Astral and the Mental bodies. These are sustained by draining energy off of the living. Hence, hauntings. Normally, the divine spark that is the true essence of the being, the soul if you will, does not linger, but returns to its source. So, just like our physical body is a physical echo of our divine spark, so to are the other bodies. What we encounter most often in a haunting is the energy echo of a departed spirit on one of the other levels of existance.

So, yes, ghosts are real. As always, this is just my honest opinion.

LVX,

Shawn.
