invisible creatures?

I know that even for the world of magic this souns strange but i have a delema, when one of my parents was younger they had seen a small, furry, brown creature, maybe 3/4 of the size of my shin, and it was in a suit and top hat, and it spoke to her. She moved around alot and this thing followed her everywhere. But she was the only one who could see it, ever. Now here is where it gets really bizzare, I am a fan of the spiderwick chronicles and in the field guide I saw a creature that she positively identified as the creature she saw. It was called a brownie, either this is one hell of a coincidence or arthur spiderwick really did document all of these creatures.

ive never heard of a real brownie before..wow
well lots of "mystical creatures" are actually real
dragons, fairies, gryphons,
the ones i know of are spirits, though they can appear to their keeper in a physical form. usually thy will only appear to their keeper but they can appear to whoever they want
(please non believers no rude messages to me or rude replies if you dont believe me then dont talk to me on the subject )

yeah i would say her description match to what we know for brownies .
As all fae (fairy folk ) they can be invisible and they show them
selves only to people they like .They are house fairies if they
like you they follow you everywhere .They bring a lot luck in the house if you give them offerings they can help you with a lot things .But in case you by some way make them angry they can cause a lot problems and misfortune .
