Good Trance Techniques?

Can anyone please indicate me a good and effective conscious trance technique?

I have tried many times (especially the stairs technique) but I never had success. (I've experienced conscious trance only a couple of times in the moments just after waking from sleep and just before falling asleep)

the stair method is a good one to use, you can also use the bar method, where you visualise yourself sitting on a bar stool then just allow yourself to drift to the side of allowing for the state of mind to blend with the spirit world
