As Zeusy said, the Greek myths do claim that Chronos devoured his children until Rhea fooled him into swallowing a rock instead of the new-born Zeus.
But it is best not to take any myths literally. If we think of Chronos as being time itself then it is true that time eventually swallows us all. So it is more an allegory than a factual tale.

What Lark means is that we shouldn't think of religious lore as factual in the physical plane of existence, as that is where we have science. Just because something is not physically manifested does not make it nonsense. I'd watch my tongue if I were you towards calling any religious material nonsense purely out of respect.
When it comes to matters beyond physical reality, the energy we work with is subtle, as in non-physical; this can pertain to events described in relgious scripture, and even then, they could still be considered allegory instead of an actual spiritual event.
