Hekate is my patron goddess. Recently I have been told by certain people that this is a bad thing, that Hekate is a dark goddess and a source of evil magick. I do not do dark magick.(not that I necessarily think dark magick is a bad thing, if it weren't for the Dark there would be no Light)
I don't agree that Hekate is a dark goddess. People tend to forget She has three Aspects as does the mother goddess.

What I'd like to know is what your thoughts on this are.Do any of you have patron Goddesses or gods. What do you think about Deity such as The Morrigan or Hekate who are considered by many people to be "Dark"? anyone have Loki as a patron?

Hekate is the Thracian moon goddess. She is the patron goddess of midwives, birth, fertility, the dark of the moon and I believe of children. She is one third of a triade with Perephone (maiden) and Demeter (mother). That doesn't sound very evil to me?

My patron goddess is Brigid, the Celtic goddess of fire of inspiration, smithcraft, poetry, healin, and divination. Hense the picture, even though I have taken the name of the Baltic Mother Sun. Neither of them mind.

exactly, but it seems people only focused on the darker aspects of Her. I believe She's been the victim of a smear campaign.
LOL.

Personally my patrons are Anubis, and his beautiful mother Nepthys. You can find them in the Egyptian Pantheon.

Oh I do love the Egyptian goddesses, especially Isis, Maat, and Sekhmet, goddess of anger and rage. Yes, there's a goddess for my mad moods also.

My patron goddess is Lilith. I have followed her for some time now. She has been a protector and a source of information and inspiration to me. I wear a pendent which is charged with her power and my alter is dedicated to her.

Blessed be LadyO

My patron god is Apollo. I also like the Valkyries but they are like Ares the god of war.

TheCrone: Hekate in my opinon is like Freya, Aphrodite and Venus. Though in other people's opinon they aren't "evil". I do not think Hekate is evil, because i read that she is good too.
