Number Phobia

I have an intense fear of the number "27." So many 'popular' bands such as Nirvana. Thus, when the lead singer Kurt Cobain died, it had a big impact on my generation. He was only 27. Around the same time I saw a biopic film with Val Kilmer, The Doors, which got me listening to their music. I found out that the lead singer, Jim Morrison, died and again he was 27.
Fast forward to today, and this generation has another tragic young death of a musician – Amy Winehouse. When I heard that she had died, I wanted to know how old she was. Sure enough, she too was 27. Therefore, I did a bit of research and found that there were other famous people, mainly musicians, who had died at this very same age.
All of them were very talented and took drugs; hence, all suffered a very sad death. Here are some members of the “27 Club”:

Some people ridicule me, but I don't know how to get rid of this fear. Are there any spells?

The only sure-fire way to overcome a fear is to confront it and realize, through your experience, that it was never as dangerous as it seemed.

I've drafted a loose spell for you; you are free to use it (and modify it) if you like. It would be best done on a Thursday, a Sunday or a Tuesday, as these are excellent days for reinstating authority and boosting one's courage.

You'll need a mirror and a single white candle.

(An alternative would be to do so on a Saturday, which is fortuitous for removing negative energy, but replace the white candle with a black candle if you do it then.)

Light the candle in front of the mirror. Blot out all other light. (The easiest place to do this would be a windowless bathroom.)

Looking into the mirror, recite the following poem:

By the Law of Three and the elements four
Let fear of 27 control me no more

Fire, make me strong
Water, cleanse my soul
Air, bring me knowledge
Earth, make me whole

Courage and wisdom come unto me
As I will it, so mote it be

Then, count to 27 out loud.

Repeat the poem, then count to 27 again.

Repeat the poem and the count to 27 one more time.

Simple exercises like these using 27 as a trope will help you get more comfortable around it. At least, that's the hope!

As for the celebrity deaths, there are many coincidences and conspiracies surrounding famous people, and only a small fraction are substantiated by anything other than rumor. Sometimes, even in our magickal, allegorical world, a cigar really is just a cigar.

Blessed be.
