Valid and invalid spells

Keep in mind what to look for when looking for a spell. Obviously, you want to pay close attention to the caster's instruction to see if their instruction makes sense with the objective. But there are some other things you may want to recognize too. A full spell gives instruction on raising the energy, programming the energy with an affirmation that is always said 5-10 times, and also keep in mind any spell must be done regularly for results. No spell works overnight. If a spell doesn't have all of these, then it is invalid.

I was on here earlier looking at some spells. Mostly death spells. I encountered some that had only words. If you see a spell with nothing but words, you should recognize it as invalid. A full spell has more steps to it than simple words. I marked those ones as spam and voted one star for those because I knew they were invalid. Anyway, that's basically what you wanna observe when finding the best spell for your objective, unless you're like me and make your own spells.

Spells can have just words. Scott Cunningham has spells with just words. You don't need fancy objects for spells.

You obviously do not know much about valid and invalid spell casting. A spell does not have to be done regularly. A spell will never work overnight, but it will work if cast properly. Spells can also have "just words". Because you put the intent into it, and the energy into it. You've basically just spread false information.

I have to say that I also disagree with a large amount of this. For one not all spells necessarily require words at all and certainly don't require a repetition of 5-10times. One of my favourite lines I've encountered in magic, although largely for the poetic style of it, is "to speak with words unspoken" the words often help focus both you and your energy but not all spell work necessarily uses them.

I would also disagree with saying that ALL spells must be done regularly, it depends very much on the focus of the spell. If it is something along the lines of a money ritual then it probably is best to repeat it however there are probably more spells that do not require such repetition than are. There are spells such as a Honey jar spell that are intended to be started and then left to work there magic all on there own. Even within ritual work there is not a need to repeat every spell, summoning for example bears little point to repeat once you've succeeded in your goal.

As for raising and programming the energy then perhaps spells should mention a bit about this but then prayers to deities often don't involve the direct manipulation of your own energy and at least some of that falls within the category of magic also directing energy into a spell is fairly standard practice and many may simply feel it unnecessary to mention every time.

In my opinion for a spell to be valid needs one thing and one thing only, logic. If a spell sounds realistic then it may very well work for you, if it sounds outside the realm of realism then there's probably a very good reason for why that might be. There are hundreds of practices all over the world in magic involving all sorts of different styles so I wouldn't be quite so quick to assume that there is only one correct way of doing things. Even stating that spells can not work through words alone is partially incorrect, one of the oldest magic forms around is considered to be the power of the name, mostly forgotten in today's society and frankly dubious wether it can still be called magic but words do still invoke emotion, therefore a string of artfully composed words I feel can still be called magic.

I also have to disagree with much of what has been said here.

While energy and intent are a big part of spell casting, you don't need to do this "5-10 times" in order for the spell to be successful. While repetition is sometimes needed depending on the spell or ritual, it is not a constant. If the focus and intent are strong enough your spell should be successful regardless of how many times it is done.

Also, as has been previously stated, you don't need tools or items to make a spell successful. The purpose of a tool is to help the caster better focus on their intended outcome or desired goal. Words alone, accompanied with visualization and focus of the intended outcome, are often all that is needed to cast a successful spell. If you feel that tools or items are needed to make your spells successful, then so bet it. However, to say that one must always use tools is incorrect. If you have the experience, energy and visualization are all that are needed for magical workings.

Almost, the will you put into the spell is absolutely necessary however it won't bring about any effect on its own it needs to be tied in with energy, focus and belief. Those are basically the key ingredients of spell work but you can of course work in as many extra tools or methods as you like to help you achieve a higher degree of one or more of these elements.
