How can I get in contact with gnomes?

From one of my books, it states that gnomes are spirits associated with the Earth. My recommendation for contacting or working with them would have crystals and earth like objects on your altar if you have not already done so. Try to buy a book on fairies and gnomes as well. I hope this helps. I know bits and pieces.
