Personal Bio
I am not a mean spirited person and I try not to be judgmental, however, poor grammar and the inability to pay attention to auto correct is a huge pet peeve! Also text chat when communicating via email is ridiculously lazy! I don't even use that form of communication when I'm texting! If you wish to contact me, please use proper grammar, spelling, and the use of proper written English. If I receive anything other than that you can expect me not to respond. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Proud mamma of two. My daughter is 22 and my son is going to be 20 on the 21st :) My daughter married an amazing man almost a year ago and I am impatiently waiting for them to make me a grandma :P I was practicing pretty heavily from 2000 to 2011 but then for personal reasons allowed life to draw me away :( I feel that it's an integral part of who I am and something that has been missing for sometime. Therefore, I am reaching out hoping that through that reaching something magickal will happen...this is my wish :) I fancy myself a "kitchen witch" on a right handed path and practice mostly with herbalism, color & candle magick - stones and preparing my own incense. I believe that everything in nature has energies unique to themselves and have been placed here for us to commune with. From these energies if allowed we can affect positive change. Nothing excites me more than orchestrating a spell from the ground up. My element is earth but have an almost equal amount of water mixed in there as well...I guess kind of like the earth and us humans ;) With harm to none - free will to all - so mote it be. Namaste :) ********************************************************************** I wish there were a private journaling thingy on this site :| http://herb-magic.com/ ********************************************************************** ********************************************************************** July 19, 2014 We celebrated my son's 20th birthday today. I was ridiculously busy with food prep, cleaning, and making sure that everything was perfectonshlag (Dwight Shrute "The Office"). We had a full house with my parents, my daughter and her husband, my sons girlfriend and my big brother in attendance. In the down times when things were simmering, grilling and warming it was nice to sit down and visit with them all. I had a complete feeling of being blessed with such loving people surrounding me. The food was amazing with my son at the helm of the grill and my dad, husband and brother coaching (at times they were too involved) him. It was an amazing day and the birthday a success! My kids are the kind of people who like to be surrounded by their family on their special days and for this I feel extremely blessed. :) ********************************************************************** July 16,2014 Friday is our family game night. My daughter and son along with her husband and his girlfriend, my husband, and my brothers (occasionally)get together and prepare a vegan feast. After dinner we choose a game and play til the wee hours of the night. Last Friday, however, when I arrived home from work we had a catastrophe. I decided I would take the cat outside for a bit before everyone started arriving. As I opened the door to let him out my husband informed me that he was not allowed to go out because he had caught a baby bird and it was hiding behind the AC unit outside. I asked him if the bird was okay and he said he didn't think so but wasn't sure. I told my son and his girlfriend and they freaked. His girlfriend found a shoe box and filled it with paper towel and put the bird very gingerly into the box. My son was super upset and started looking for places we might take the bird for care. I was about to start cooking our quinoa chili when he came out and said rather confrontationally, that the cat shouldn't have been let out in the first place because the months of July and August were fledgling season. This is the time of year I guess that they are grounded from 8 - 10 days while learning to fly, are extremely vulnerable, and the aviary community request that cats be kept in during this period to prevent loss to the fledgling flock. I informed my son that I was unaware of this and that sorrily, the damage was done. I'm not a cavalier person when it comes to the animal kingdom but short of taking care of the bird myself (not knowledgeable re bird life) I wasn't sure what I could do. I explained this but he insisted that it was our cat that had compromised the bird and if he could find a place to take the bird we were responsible for getting him to a place where he could be properly cared for. I was super cranky because I was hungry and didn't relish driving in rush hour traffic on an empty stomach but grudgingly agreed to take the bird if they found someplace. Naturally, his girlfriend found a sanctuary in the Cherry Creek district which is 15 miles from home and also straight through the heart of downtown and rush hour. Crankiness escalated... That's when my daughter and son-in-law (the great animal proponents) showed up. My son and his girlfriend shared with them what our murdering cat had done and of course we gotta get the bird to the sanctuary 10 minutes ago :| Crankiness = 10 and still rising. None of them wanted to drive so that left me :| Taking all the side streets possible the whole family minus my husband crowded in my tiny car and transported the baby bird to the sanctuary. We were afraid he was damaged and that the kind people at the sanctuary were not going to be able to help him. That fear quickly eroded when mr. baby bird started chirping like a crazy bird and began trying to escape the box he was being transported in. I was then forced to roll up my windows so he would not on the off chance fly out. I didn't want to have to run my AC because it's a crazy drain on my gas but my daughter started to complain about the mugginess :| AC on, still some ways away from the sanctuary and I was starving. Crankiness = breaking point My son, who was growing very attached to the bird, started calling him Tyrese and suggested we try to take care of him ourselves. I said we knew nothing about bird care which by the tone of my voice he promptly decided against convincing me otherwise. We finally located the sanctuary and dropped off Tyrese. The nice young lady who took Tyrese in said he was fine and put him in a little nest thing which he immediately snuggled into like it had been his home since birth. We found out he was a sparrow, that he would be given antibiotics due to the bacteria in our cats mouth, and placed with other sparrows until he was able to take care of himself. We asked if we could call and see how he was fairing but were told very bluntly "no" due to the fact that they being nonprofit had a hard time keeping tract of who brought what bird in. We donated what little cash we had and left Tyrese in good hands. After dropping him off my son-in-law decided we should celebrate Tyrese's good luck by going out for Pho, his treat. We all agreed and had great dinner in Tyrese's honor. Although he was a wrench in the works of my family game night, together as a family we all made sure that Tyrese would have a chance at life he normally wouldn't have had we not stepped in. After we got back home and while playing rummy with my kids the John Lennon quote popped into my head "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." Was a lovely lesson :) ********************************************************************** July 17, 2014 Test (X) Smoked a cigarette (X) Drank so much you threw up (X) Had feelings for someone who didn't have them back ( ) Been arrested (X) Gone on a blind date (X) Skipped school ( ) Seen someone die (X) Been to Canada (X) Been to Florida ( ) Been to Mexico (X) Been on a plane (X) Been lost (X) Been on the opposite side of the country () Gone to Washington , DC (X) Swam in the ocean (X) Felt like dying....
