Personal Bio
Greetings fellow open minds. My name, "Atarikus", (At-AIR-ik-us) was manifest to me through a dream I had when I was younger (14 years old) upon completion of the novel For Whom the Bell Tolls, by Ernest Hemmingway. I found this site while seeking blessings and I am glad I did, because there seem to be many wonderful people in the world of the spirit that can share knowledge with me on various questions I have been seeking answers to for a very long time. I am a writer and gardener in Mid-Michigan. My best crop is sage, since it is used in medicinal, culinary, and spiritual arts. It is also a very hardy plant, for instance, it is 4 degrees outside and the plants I did not harvest are protruding from the snow, still with leaves, withered, yet retaining their grayish/green color. When I was in high school, I dabbled in Satanism, but in my young adulthood, I burned everything pertaining to this craft and carried on, working in the automobile industry Michigan was once known for. I still enjoy reading the works of Anton Szandor LaVey, the deceased founder of the First Church of Satan, he wrote some very insightful rituals, essays and theories. But, now in my adulthood, I see this as mere Humanism with the biblical adversary of God inserted into the name, which I believe is a form of self deception. Sorry if I have offended any Satanists on this site, I have nothing against it, I just see it for what it is. I have a few friends who are still into this and we have some very interesting debates, I respect them, they respect me. This year, the Chinese year of the water-snake, I am going to make positive changes. I have found another very amazing site dedicated to writing. Also, I recently took a 7 day metaphysics class and I believe this is why a few things are changing for the positive in my life. Metaphysics deals with energy found within and without, flowing in and out of all things, it is the nameless god within. It deals with Extra Sensory Perceptions and its various underclasses In April of 2010, my fiance and I abandoned our trailer and I ran like Hell from my beautiful hometown of Sparta. I started college and returned to the above mentioned forms of escape: Writing and gardening. She went into a rehab for 3 months and graduated with high honors. Now, we live at my parents immaculate house on forty acres. We help out around here, since both my parents are retired and in their seventies (my father can still out work me thought, crazy). There is always something to do around here. The house is heated with an outdoor boiler and needs to be filled with wood two, sometimes, three times a day. We wish to build a house on the property in a future date, perhaps by the little rustic fenced in plot of earth I call the garden. The most amazing thing which is going on right now is my fiance and I just had a baby on April 2nd, 2012. Alana Kaylee Rayne. Weiging 6 pounds, 13 ounces and 19 inches long. She is amazing! So full of life. My oldest daughter is getting married on May 10th 2013 to a wonderful young man. He asked for her hand and my blessing, how endearing is that? They recently bought a house and my daughter is in college after graduating Magna Cum Laude at a Class A high school. She also works part time as a cashier at a grocery store. Her fiance enjoys working at a factory that builds automobiles. He plans on starting a business of his own which has something to do with cars. My other two children, daughter (18) and son (16) are also great kids. She is already married and has given me two wonderful grandbabies, Jace and Skyla. My son is following in my footsteps and is working on a novel of his own. Anyways, if anyone reads through all my ramblings to get to these questions, feel free to send me an email if you have knowledgeable answers: 1) I have a Red-Tailed Hawk Talon that my best friends son found when he was 13, he gave it to me and it was still fresh so I wrapped the claws around a rock and let it cure, it turned out amazing. It is now 8 years old and in my collection of natural items. My question is, what kind of spells or rituals could I use it for? 2) My great aunt passed away and we inherited an awesome house (my aunt built two additions on to it resembling a bar, she was a bar fly) and some furniture. The house is rented out and the furniture is split between a storage unit and the other storage: the football field sized basement at my parents house. Well, one of the items here is an antique desk, oh yeah, I am going to use it for my writing for sure, but, my question is this: Cleaning it out I found some old blank paper, 11 sheets to be exact, it is of parchment quality and yellow from age, would it be a valuable item to write spells on? If so, what kind? Well, that is it, my novella and introduction of myself to the Spells of Magic site. Any other questions you would like to ask me, or if you would just like to chat, hit up my mail. Thank you. Mark.
