Ash Wednesday Ritual

Ingredients Paper Matches/lighter Pen cauldron/fire-safe bowl or dish Bible (Optional) Description A great way to start the Liturgical season of Lent for Christian Witches! This rite is symbolic of the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness avoiding temptation from evil. Spell Casting On a piece of paper, write whatever mistakes you made in the last year. Were they sins? Was anyone hurt? What makes you feel bad about what you did? Next, write what you will give up or devote yourself to for Lent.  Once you are done, fold the paper into the cauldron or other fire-safe area. Pray or meditate on what is written on the paper. How did you feel when you did these things? How can you do better? Set the paper on fire and let it burn to ash.
