We gather tonight on this December's eve to celebrate the winter Festival of Yule. It is the birth of the Divine Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. For Christ is the sun of righteousness, and in this long cold winter, the birth of Christ promises the return of the sun. It gives us hope and courage as we make plans of renewal in the warm months ahead. We stand together united in the spirit of the season, when hearts are light [with] the love of our Goddess and our God. Let us be thankful for all we have: let us remember the spirit of giving unselfishly of ourselves when so many around us are in need! Let the solar light shine in our hearts and in our minds as the celebration of Yule begins!" The Winter Solstice "The Season of Winter is upon us! The wheel of the year turns onward! Winter is the time of the year in which all nature rests. many of her animals slumber while many continue to scurry about providing for their nests. The trees are barren of leaves and snow lays on the ground. The air is crisp and clean. A winter wonderland is truly delightful as the Earth's beauty takes on a new face."
