Instructions on creating ritual powders and mixes that can be used to mark the boundaries of the circle, the area around your home, or added to charm bags.

Protection Powder:

Tips:

Instructions:

In the mixing bowl, carefully add together all of the ingredients. As you mix each in, focus on them being filled with a red, protective energy. As you continue to combine them together, focus on this energy growing and beginning to emanate from the bowl;further imbuing the ingredients with this power.

At this time, you may also say a prayer or chant, associated with your intent to further solidify the purpose and power behind what it is you are doing. I personally mix the ingredients together, focus on their power, and chant:

''Protection come.
Protection grow.
Protection come.
Protection flow.''

The words or prayers do not need to be anything fancy, so long as they are specify and affirm your intent.

Once you are done mixing and charging the powder,it can be used to mark the protective boundaries of your ritual circle, sprinkled around your home to create a protective barrier to keep out unwanted energies, or added to protective charm sachets and carried with you for personal protection.

Egg Shell Ritual Powder

Powdered egg shells have a variety of uses and are a wonderful addition to magical workings. Its another item that is easy to make and can be stored for quite some time, if kept dry.

To make your powder, keep old egg shells and wash them out thoroughly. Once they have dried, you can grind them up in a mortar and pestle or an old coffee grinder. If you don't have either of those on hand, you can use a zip-lock bag and a hammer or the bottom of the cup to smash and grind the shells into a powder.

You can add fine sea salt and sandalwood powder to the power as well and use the mixture in protection sachets and jars. It can also be used to mark the boundaries of a ritual circle.

I like to use it during smudging and cleansing rituals as well. I sprinkle it in corners and windowsills to absorb negative energies, and then sweep it up and dispose of it (and the stale/negative energies) once the smudging or ritual is complete.

Black Salt

Black salt is generally made my mixing salt with activated charcoal dust. It is used for protection, absorbing negative influences, and can even be added into curse jars with some cayenne pepper.

If you aren't able to get or make the activated charcoal dust to add to your salt, you can use the charcoal sticks used for sketching and art. Most arts and crafts stores carry them and they are fairly cheap to buy. Ive used them for making black salt on several occasions.

To make the salt you will need:

Carefully mix the salt and charcoal together, adding more charcoal if needed. I recommend wearing gloves when mixing the two, as the charcoal can be quite messy.
