Beginners Guide To Magick

This article was added by Spell Casters

For all the people who don't know where to start!

Over the past couple of days, I’ve been receiving many emails from people asking where they should start to learn magick, so I thought I’d make my first article regarding that. One thing you must keep in mind is that nobody can spoon feed you the information, you need to make an effort if this is something you want.

First of all, I’d like to answer some FAQs

I know you may have heard this already, and you may even refuse to believe it but the thing is, you can NOT transform into another creature. Everything you see in TV shows isn’t real. Magick does not enable one to transform.

They will still work if you put energy into them. Usually those items are only used to “charge” your spell more, but they will still work if you just say them.

There are many different types such as herbal, elemental, etc. In terms of which path you want to go on, that’s something you have to discover on your own.

So, some tips I have for beginners are as follows:

Meditation is a huge part of magick, especially for beginners. There are many articles that go into depth about how to properly ground and center and I will put the link of my personal favorite here: https://www.spellsofmagic.com/coven_ritual.html?ritual=3663&coven=735 (written by Lark)
Meditating trains your mind to focus on one thing, visualize it, and collect all your energy. This will be helpful in casting spells so I suggest you meditate everyday.

If you’re currently reading this, it means you’ve tried to find a source to help you so you’re already one step in. Basically, what I’m trying to say is that you need to find resources to help you. I suggest you try finding books on magick as there are many that are available online as well.

Some books I have read are:
Grimoire for Apprentice Wizard, by Oberon Zell Ravenhaert
Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft.
Before you cast a spell, by Carl McColman

Most importantly, keep practicing and working hard. If you have any questions feel free to mail me. I will end here as I think if I continue, this article might become a bit too lengthy.
