The Five Sacred Phases of the Moon
In the eternal dance of the Moon, each phase carries a current of power, guiding the flow of magic and the work of the practitioner.
New Moon
The first breath of her return, when the silver crescent pierces the dark sky. This is the time of beginnings, when intentions are sown like seeds. As the Moon waxes, so too will the desires planted in her light.
Waxing Moon
The tide of increase, as the Moon gathers strength. This phase is for attraction and calling: love, wealth, luck, protection, and all that you would draw toward you. Her growing light empowers the summoning of blessings.
Full Moon
The crown of radiance, when the Moon shines in her perfect fullness. For three nights the eve, the height, and the wane her influence reigns. A time of honor for the Great Mother, of workings magnified by her brilliance. Though her energy may be turned to any purpose, hexing is rarely advised beneath her pure light.
Waning Moon
The ebb of power, as the Moons light diminishes. This is the hour of release, banishment, and endings. Hexes, bindings, and uncrossings are woven in her retreat, as obstacles and enemies are driven into shadow.
Dark Moon
The holy silence, when no silver graces the sky. A night of mystery and chthonic power, sacred to Hekate, whose supper is laid in her honor. Here banishings, hexes, and summonings are performed, for in the void before rebirth, darkness holds sway.
