When you are ready to meditate and have chosen a place where you will be COMPLETELY undisturbed, You may either lie down on your bed or sofa, or sit upright on the floor with your legs crossed. If you choose to sit, do make sure your back is straight so that you can breathe properly. A pillow behind you back may be helpful.
First, begin breathing slowly, with deep, rythmic breaths from deep in your core. Concentrate on your breathing until you are completely relaxed. Make sure your muscles are relaxed too. You may need to actually focus on relaxing of each muscle in your body, starting by concentrating on relaxing your neck, shoulders, arms, hands, waist, bottom, legs, ankles, feet, etc. Then once again, focus on your breathing. (dont focus on your body at this time)
Now, begin to visualize your "meditation place." This will be the place you come to each time you meditate. Your meditation place should be somewhere that is visually beautiful and peaceful to you. It can be a real place or one you have made-up in your mind.
As you begin to visualize your meditation place, concentrate on all your surroundings . What do you see around you? Are you walking on dirt, grass, a hill, a walkway? Are there trees, buildings or forests surrounding you? Is it day time or night? Concentrate on finding all these details.
Now, concentrate on the sounds you hear. Do you hear crickets, birds singing, the wind blowing through the trees? Is there a little creek or a huge ocean nearby?
"What" do you feel? Is the weather warm or cool? How is the ground under your feet?
Now, when your meditation place is visually complete, I want you to begin walking around and take time to enjoy all you see and all that you feel for a moment. "Look" at everything, "feel" everything.
Take in everything around you then, have a seat. Breathe deeply. Begin to focus on the very reason you are meditiating today. Open your-self up to what it is that you want .and wait for it. Do not rush.
When you are ready to return to your "real" world, say goodbye to any entity you may have invoked, and thank them for visiting with you today. Then, very slowly I want you to begin to walk away from your meditation place and visualize walking up to your real house or apartment and imagine your-self walking through your front door. Visualize yourself sitting or lying down in the very place you began your meditation. Now, slowly open your eyes.
Please dont expect to be successful even after several attempts, especially if you are trying to reach a deep, altered state of consciousness. It could take quite some time to achieve what you want. Don't be discouraged, just keep practicing. You will find that you are far better focused as time passes.
Remember, meditation is not for the sole purpose of meeting deities or spirit guides, etc. You should also meditate on your goals when you are casting spells. You probably need not visit your meditation place when performing a spell but instead, concentrate deeply on what you are trying to achieve. Remember, FOCUSING on the end result is the key to your successful magick.
