A basic guide to making salts.

GREEN SALTS

In a mortar and pestle, grind together sea salt/kosher salt and one or more of the options below:

Basil

Bay

Mint

Dill

Sage

Rosemary

Fennel

BLACK SALT

In a mortar and pestle, grind Seal salt/Kosher salt with one or more of the options below:

Skillet scrapings

Ash

Crushed black chalk dust

Finely ground charcoal

Black pepper

RED SALT

In a mortar and pestle, grind together sea salt/kosher salt with one or more of the below:

Paprika

Cayenne pepper

BLUE SALT

In a mortar and pestle, grind together sea salt/kosher salt with one or more of the below:

Blue thistle

Blue iris

Lily-of-the-Nile

HEALING SALTS

In a mortar and pestle, grind sea salt/Kosher salt/Himalayan salt with one or more of the below:

Orange zest

Lemon zest

Lavender

Sage

Chamomile

LOVE/LUST SALTS

In a mortar and pestle, grind sea salt/Kosher salt with one or more of the below:

Rose buds

Heather buds

Pink buds

Red buds

Paprika

Cayenne pepper

Blossoms

Lavender

Jasmine

SEVEN DAY SALT

Leave salt in the light of the waxing moon, three days before the full moon, the full moon itself, and three days after the full moon to empower it with all three energies (this on is from Michelle Curtis' Book of Shadows)

These salts are NOT for eating, but for baths, rituals, and cleansing. PLEASE DO NOT EAT THEM.
