As I have tried to point out in the thread "Jinn", the Holy Bible is taken from the Jewish scriptures. So there are many mistranslations, misspellings,as well as additions and subtractions.
The main problem is that in the original, ancient, Hebrew, there are no vowels; only "indications" of vowel "sounds" within the writing. All the scriptures are copied by Scribes, by hand!
One tiny mistake can alter the whole description of an event. And that tiny mistake would be faithfully copied by ensuing Scribes.
This is why Jewish scholars,to this day, pour over the scriptures, looking for "the truth".
I was told, many years ago, that the two names Adam and Eve should be pronounced as Ah-Dam (like two words) and Eh-Vay (like two words). Whether this is true or not I have no idea. Perhaps a Rabbi could enlighten us!
