Is it possible for a spirit to come to you in different forms?

Okay this sounds totally ridiculous, but I feel like I need to know whether or not it actually is. I feel like I've been contacted by a spirit that looks like... well, Slifer the Sky Dragon. Yeah... it's a Yugioh card... but it IS based off Osiris and I feel like red dragons/serpents are a common motif.

Is it possible that this was a spirit taking on a relatable form, or am I crazy or have I just watched way too much TV? (Okay, the answer to the third question is yes, but does it relate to what I wrote above?)
