I found out an "Imaginary Friend" of mine is a spirit. He died at 10-12 years in 50's Cholera. He grew up in a disabled child home, he is in a wheelchair and can shape shift like a Fae/guide. In other words, he shape shifts to allow you to feel comfy. Which is what Fae do. Or Angels. Tha's what I learned from a book and it rings as true.
