My protective spirit's name is James, and he would like some help.

He cannot remember anything from beyond seven years ago, the only thing he remembers from before that is his name; and that took him a couple of years to remember. He feels like before he became a protective spirit he had a life, and that he had a family but he can't remember them. He wants to know if there would be any way of retrieving those memories. He knows they would probably be useless now, but he wants to know who he was and if he had a family. If he had a family, he wants to be able to remember them.
