Hi everyone!

I'm just starting on my path of witchcraft and I'm very interested in learning Hindu-based shellwork. It's the religion I've been drawn to for almost a decade, and which I do practice in my own way. I worship the Hindu gods and light incense for the altar every day. However, I'm not very well versed in Hindu mysticism and only have very messy, cobbled together knowledge. I can share what I know here, but it's very disorganized and incomplete. I'm interested to hear from any spellcasters who follow dharmic traditions - Jainism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc - or an eclectic mix that includes Hinduism.

Hindu rituals seem to just involve what I already do - choose your patron deity (mine in Goddess Kali), light the incense she wants, make the offerings she wants, recite her specific mantras, and ask for her to fulfill your wish.

But is that really it? And there are so many mantras for even one goddess that I don't know how to use them.

There are also yantras (visual representations of the mantra), no information on what kinds of oil to use because Hindus use ghee to light their lamps (not candles), and it just doesn't feel like a spell to me.

Any advice is appreciated!
