Ancient paganism has been regarded as a dead tradition since it was violently suppressed by the christian church of rome in the 4th century. In recent years, however, there has been renewed interest in the spirituality of our ancestors. This neo-Pagan revival has concentrated mainly on the more shamanic elements of paganism. Many people now celebrate old pagan festivals that mark the traditions of the year and honor the ancient earth goddess, the 'green man', and other nature spirits. But there was so much to paganism than nature worship.
