Does anyone have an explanation or an opinion on this experience.

So I was playing with my brother's dog with tennis ball. Just out of curiousity, I wanted to feel the energy of the ball. Normaly I just like to feel plants, furniture, and stones so it was a new experience for me. Once I could feel it, I started playing with her again, but the dog would not touch it. She looked like she wanted to play, but she looked at the ball like I'd told her "No!". It took some persuasion to get her to play with it again. I repeated this twice afterwards and the result was the same, she wouldn't touch the ball. Anyone have any explanation?
