Tealeaf reading is one of the older forms of divination and can be practiced with any kind of tea.

* Make the tea in the usual manner but do not strain into the cups. allow it to settle for a minute or two before drinking, so that the leaves sink to the bottom of the cup ad try not to drain the cup entirely - a little fluid should be left covering the leaves.

* Take the cup and swirl it three times so that the leaves are once again suspended in the dregs and then quickly invert the cup over a saucer. Don't bang it down you may break the cup!

* Then, holding the cup up to the light, examine the patterns left by the leaves on the inside of the cup.

* There are many books which will give you explanations for the patterns you see there - a bird means travel, a ring means romance and so on. However, as always, it is best if you can make your own interpretations of the patterns.

Like any form of divination tealeaf reading takes practice, in this case not least because of the skill involved in drinking unstrained tea. Happy drinking!
