Can someone explain the rule of three to me? I'm not Wiccan, I'm a Pastafarian, but it just doesn't make sense to me. What's the origin? I personally like to trace things to their roots.

I'm also arithmetarded, but wouldn't the rule of three cause evil and good to be extremely unbalanced? Like, exponentially? I see a fair bit of both in other people's lives... I don't know.

The following opinions might tick some of you off, but I stand by them.

Though, I put my heart and soul in the world and I just get stomped on. I try my best to make everyone happy, and yet my own life is terrible.

This has lead me to research karma, and I have learned that it's actually the bastardization of an ancient Indian concept that is more closely tantamount to "cause and effect." (I found it in a book, don't remember which. It's hard to find online) It also means that, if you surround yourself with bad things, bad things will happen to bad people as a result.

Karma sounds kind of like dharma, but dharma doesn't come to you until your next life as a cow in an American slaughter house. (I personally don't believe any human comes back as a cow.)

That's why I don't believe in the modern concept of karma. I WANT to believe in it because I want to think that all of the good I've done will come back to me someday... but I've seen no evidence of this. It seems that good things only happen on the rare occasion that I play the bitch card. And I ~HATE~ doing that.

So how did karma and the rule of three come to be? It will bother me until I find out.
