I tried looking around the site but didn't find anything that really explained how to anoint. So here is how I learned to do so.

When preparing to do a ritual or casting a spell you may find that it asks you to anoint a candle with an essential oil. This simply means you will apply oil(s) to a candle that matches the intent of the spell or ritual. You can find what oils will do what here on the site.

Here are steps to do so properly:

-You take your oil(s) and pot a little onto both foreigners, then rub the oil against your thumbs.

-Place your forefinger and thumb of your non-dominant hand in the middle of your candle aka the center.

-Then you will place your forefinger and thumb of your dominant hand above your other fingers and rub up from the center to the wick. Make sure the oil coffers the whole top half of the candle.

-With your non-dominant thumb and forefinger, rub from the center down. Make sure the oil coffers the entire bottom half.

The reason we start ticking upwards is because as the candle burns it takes your intents up to the heavens. Then when we rub it down, or wishes come back to us to be manifested.

If you are doing negative magick, such As a braising spell it curse, you would apply the above, except you would start with the center down, then complete from the center up.

*Note that if you are using a pillar candle you can put a little oil on your palms, following the same procedure.
