Magic Forums

Hello. I'm new to this forum, and to the idea/concept of magick in general. I don't understand most of what I've read so far. For instance, what is this "Book of Shadows" that people have spoken of? And does each person have an affinity to a specific type of magick? If so, how am I able to tell what my affinity is, or if I even have one at all? And then I have questions concerning gods and goddesses, and guardian animals, and probably a few other things I'm not remembering at this moment in time.

I'm hoping to find somebody kind and patient enough to teach me these things, and help answer my questions.
