Hello and Blessed Be! Merry Meet to all the newbies, beginners, and broom closet members! This little post is dedicated to you all. I had one thought related to first stepping into magick, and I thought, "Why not bring it to the newbie group myself?" I was a beginner once. I remember it so well! Those days are exciting, maybe even a little rebellious to the younger eye. Maybe they leave a daring vibe. But past the joy the idea of magick brings you to, you step into what usually tends to be chaos, especially here at home on SoM. You are destined to run into fluffies and people who are engaging in magick for the wrong reasons. But for those that step in from the feelings of heart, I watch as this section of the Forums blasts up in comments from new starters that seek a teacher or mentor. Yes, from time to time we all need advice or guidance on different studies, but wouldn't beginning as your own first teacher be that much more beautiful and worthwhile? I had experiences from the occult starting at age four and progressed. I had no clue what was happening then, but once I turned ten I was researching witchcraft online and even taught myself from a book. Since then I have been my own teacher: I never recalled asking for a mentor on a post. Looking back, I just feel maybe newbies should try to be their own teachers. It's an even better experience! :)
