This is not only incomplete, but I doubt it works at all. ''Lam'' is the tone associated with the root chakra. While there are a plethora of ways to balance each chakra, you need to do more than repeat a phrase or sound. Meditate, preferably outside, focus red energy into your root chakra. Saying ''lam'' creates a tone that vibrates at the same frequency as the chakra's energy, helping it to cleanse.
