It's worth noting that the "astral body" is just an extension of one's self. It is born in and of the spirit, from which any sort of energy is typically directed (barring external sources, but that's a whole different conversation). Drawing from the astral self is thus just drawing from within yourself, using a different visualization technique. That being said, any visualization method you find that works for you is good stuff.
