Generally it is a bit of a minefield but the best method to identify what works and what doesn't is common sense, spells that are fake include:

  • DNA change
  • Physical transformation
  • Teleportation
  • Elemental control
  • Becoming a vampire
  • Changing gender
  • Becoming a different species
  • Levitation
  • Flying
  • Etc.

Magick works alongside natural laws, not against them, they are an aid to real life and so you can't break natural laws or do things you could not do naturally with the assistance of magick.

A good way to know which spells are real, is to study what magick can and cannot do, this is a really good start and is laid out in some of the below posts:

In all honesty this kind of question pops up a lot of the forums. many of the veteran forum-goers have a prepared response to copy-paste in because it saves time. Sort of like a personally made 'FAQ'.
