Circle Casting Concerns

Hi all,

I'm doing a ritual celebration soon, and I have a few concerns. Mainly, it's that I'm going to do something wrong and risk endangering myself or others involved in the ritual. I haven't been practicing for a while, and only started a year or so ago by now. I've casted circles before and they've worked so far, but I did more research to refresh my memory and it feels like I'm not doing enough! I haven't even been using the cardinal points for some reason, yet what I've done seems to be working and is very simplistic yet has been okay for my little workings, rituals and meditations thus far.

Should I cancel the ritual (it won't be do-able again sadly) or should I stick to my guns and my simple method?

Any and all replies greatly appreciated.

Just go for it.
People have different ways they cast a circle. Doesn't mean it's wrong.
Have faith in what you're doing.

A lot of people don't use a circle at all.

Do what you feel is right and what works for you. I've only casted a circle a few times over about 5 years. I've had a lot of success without a circle, mostly due to my living situation limits me from being able to do a right circle casting. Good luck!

you'll be fine. i've changed how i cast circle many times. the first time i cast the circle it took me like half an hour because i was going word for word out of a book and whenever i stumbled i would start over to be safe. from there i've changed the words, called the watchtowers, elements, dragons, and probably other things [one time i cast a circle with my friend who called on faeries] i use to use candles of corresponding colours, then i would just go with candles [biggest in the south because the fire candle always burned out first when my energetic fire sign friend cast the circle] i've also gone with symbols, rocks, sticks, shells, and now i use nothing to mark it [mostly because i've stopped having group circles so it's just a small thing around my altar]

it's scary the first time you do it in front of people [i know] but do it, you should experience a group circle at least once. circle casting can be simple or complex, its the energy you use. if you feel concerned you can ask the members to walk behind you and direct energy as well [that's what my coven does]
