Adding Sigils To Staff
By:

Seeking advice on how to add Sigils to an oak wood staff ? Have a chiselset, but it's quite difficult to use. More so on this round piece of oak. Would heating up one of these tools or even a knife, with a candle flame to etch sigils into it work okay? How would I go about choosing which sigils to use? Have little knowledgeon both Sigils and Staffs.Any suggestion's and or advice is muchbe obliged.

Thank you,

-Blessed Be

You could just paint them on if it would be easier on you.
Which sigils you used would really be up to you. Do your research, learn how to make your own, etc.

If you have a burning iron or a soldering iron, that would probably be a bit more effective for you than trying to manually heat your tools. It would be safer as well, as most normal tools conduct heat along their length and the handles are not insulated against it. You could melt the handle or burn your hand in the process.

Using a carving tip on a rotary too like a Dremel could be fun.

As Spirit said, a wood burner or soldering iron would be your best bet for burning staves, sigils, or symbols into a staff. Keep clear of the smoke, as it's pretty acrid and usually contains burnt varnish.

As for which sigils to use, that all depends on what purpose you want your staff to serve.

I will be investing in a wood burner and have previous experiences using one. May also add a few Sigils to this as it quite large. I will be continuing research on the following Topics. Thank you Guys! Sincerely, Tree -Blessed Be

I used a soldering iron to burn runes etc. into my staff. Craft stores usually sell wood burning tools but I just used what I had on hand.
