Hello. I am not technically a "newbie" here but I have been too busy to be active for many months. I was away from magic but I rec'd a calling while meditating about a month or so ago. A female entity, of whom I am not sure of the true identity, told me to get on my knees and bow to her. She was firm, yet somehow motherly and regal. She told me it was my birthright to and to embrace it, not turn my back and hide. I was also told to let go of my fears and return to my spiritual journey.
Has anyone had a similar experience with non-human beings? (No, I am not high or on drugs. I am also not mentally ill.) I still have no idea which goddess she may have been, or if she was a spirit guide. I have always been drawn to everything that is "ancient Egyptian". I have also had dreams of being there thousands of years into the past, B.C. I welcome mature, open-minded comments and thoughts.
Well I think you made a good first step by coming back. I've had similar experiences, Misty. It's actually one of the major contributing factors of my becoming a practitioner; I had a deity visit me in a dream. It's your job and your job alone to answer the question of who beckoned your return. When you find the answer you will unlock a new set of questions and lessons learned. I think the first steps you should take are re-familiarizing yourself with the basic components of Magic that create the foundation for practice to be performed on. At the same time, I don't think it would hurt to do some searching and find out what deity visited you.
Misty, I don't think you are crazy at all. I had a very similar experience with Sekhmet many years ago. She has remained as my Patron Goddess ever since.
You might want to pursue the connection even more through meditation and/or dreamwork. Or you could build an altar to her where you could begin to make daily offerings. In addition, there is a wonderful book by Judy Harrow called "Devoted To You" which is really helpful in learning how to develop a living relationship with a Patron Deity.
You don't have to put, not on drugs or not mentally I'll on here. Personally I have had things happen to me, such as "signs" telling MD to come home so to speak. I see so many things in life so my signs were Very obvious and clear, since that's how I know what to listen to. Most things I notice are just there and not meant for me. I was getting frogs popping up at my porch every night, flowers randomly growing and blooming overnight, and other things. I would say what happened to you was absolutely a sign for you and depending on your beliefs it could be about magic too. It is a good feeling to know you are not forgotten by the ones you believe in. Good luck!!
