I am looking to perform candle magick. With the selected candles, I would normally trim down the wick as it's long but with the use for these candles for candle magick, I am not sure if touching the wick is a no no. So can I cut it down prior to using it or not?
And does specific time of day matter? I am performing my spell on the suggested day of the week and noted moon phase, however does it matter if it's done during the day (after moon rise) or at night?

Generally speaking candle wicks shouldn't be overly long before burning, I have never had a problem trimming wicks on candles used for ritual or candle spell workings, after all, a candle is a candle no matter the purpose.
In regards to days, time or moon phases and their correspondence, whether or not you find them important is very much personal practice, some people use them consistently as an extra form of correspondence to your intent, while others don't give ita second thought, it really is up to you and your personal practice.
Do what feels comfortable to you, if you don't want to mess with the candle, then don't. If you want to use extra correspondence, do so, it is your practice so do what feels comfortable to you.
Touching and trimming a wick is fine. I wouldn't suggest cutting it too short, I've had times I trimmed it too short and it wouldn't light. As for the day, do what you feel comfortable with, some may say you have to do it on a certain day of the week, and some may suggest certain moon phases along with that. I cast my spells on certain days of the week, but I say you do it on any day.
