In the past I tried to summon a Demon I'm familiar with. I tried to light up five new candles in a circle but two of them didn't light up so I guess they wanted me to create the shape of the triangle with three candles and I did.
I saw somewhere now-if I understood correctly-that this symbol forces the summoned entity to come. I'm aware that triangle is the symbol of manifestation but is that true?
Should I create the shape next time I summon this Demon again?
If you are coming into the forums to ask about summoning things it is a pretty good indicator that you are not ready to be doing it. i would suggest going back to studying and learning about summoning before you start trying it.

Well, the shapes are used as symbolic references, and usually mostly tie in with the ideas of sacred geometry, or in being reflective of natural processes.
The circle is a simple shape and tends to be a catch-all, being contextual to how it is used. It tends to represent protection or containment, the cycles of the sun and moon, and/or the planets and star houses. It can also represent the whole of the self.
The triangle, in sacred geometry, tends to be representative of the classic trinity of body-mind-spirit as contextualized within a singular rigid or firm structure. In essence it is an expression of putting the whole of yourself into a task as one cohesive unit. Or, more simply, expressing that you are putting yourself to task with body, mind, and spirit acting as one.
