Dreams and their symbolism are personal to the individual having them. We can offer our opinion on things, but ultimately you would have to be the one to figure it out.

I do not think you woke up with the key in your hand, but if I was having this dream, I woukd interpretate it as having something or a part of myself locked away, or not accepting the truth about something. The symbolism for the key to me, would be to unlock, or lock something away, depending on the dream, and you said the voices said "open the truth", which made me think that perhaps you are denying something.

I know this is stupid, but if you actually have a key, then try it on all the doors you find. I'm curious on what you'll find. And I do realise this is utter nonsense, so sorry if I wasted your time, have a nice day :)

I have had something similar happen to me before, I don't believe you woke up with a key in your hand from your dream, perhaps someone put it in your hand or you just fell asleep with it in your hand. Document what you are doing throughout the day, a lot of people (including myself) have dreams that have had something they have done earlier that day and haven't thought about it, even a simple thing like making tea or going out to eat. You can use meditation or fortune techniques to get better in contact with your dreams and even trying lucid dreaming.

This could also mean nothing, when I was really young I had the same dream over and over again and they eventually stopped. Just be cautious on what you're doing throughout the day and listen to yourself, this might sound silly but make a dream journal and add up what you see and hear in your dreams when you wake up.

@RedGlow: dreams are a reflection of the subconscious and your fears.
