Hi, I was wondering what anyone's thoughts were on spells that return someone's harmful intent to them like a binding or gossip spell in terms of the threefold rule. I have recently realized that someone very close to me is quite toxic but my concern is that by casting a spell that is intended to make someone's harmful intent come back to them threefold doesn't that mean I am causing them harm as well which will also come back to me threefold? It just seems tricky to then close a spell like that with the usual "harm to none" phrasing.
As not everyone believes in the three fold you are going to get a variety of answers. I, personally, find it easier to ignore and avoid those who are toxic. They aren't worth the energy to cast a spell on.
I agree entirely with Miss Nord on both points. Karma and the threefold law are both concepts. They are ones not everyone believes in. I myself am amongst the group of nonbelievers. For me spells can take planning which takes time. They can also cost money for materials you intend to use. But at the end of the day cutting toxic people out of your life can be as easy as choosing not to talk to them or spend time with them anymore.
Great question. Great responses. I would say it's easier for females to accept the 'three fold law'. And please notice that the whole issue around that is much deeper. What if naturally the toxic one happens to be a family member? say a sibling. Is ignoring them still the best advice. In any case even if it is not a family member it can be a school teacher, a boss at work or a neighbour.
I appreciate the responses! As UnitedKingdom suggested this is a person that I cannot easily remove from my life. I have tried distancing myself from them but they continue to seek doing me harm by damaging my relationships with mutual friends through slander. I have tried talking to them but it quickly unravels into them just insulting me and ripping my character apart rather than trying to resolve any issues. This person is very deeply unhappy in their own life and so is trying to make it so that I am equally as unhappy so quite frankly I am at a loss as to how to deal with them.
