Spirit animals

Hello I have been trying to figure out my spirit animal for awhile but even with meditation and stuff I can't get it to show it's self

The concept of a spirit animal differs greatly depending on which tradition you are following.

Most current concepts are based very -- and I stress very -- loosely upon some carefully cherry-picked Native American beliefs, and presented as a possibility of many different things ranging from being one's spirit guide, guardian, or an aspect of one's personality. Of course, the many different ideas of spirit animals, totems, mascots, and the like, are quite broad and vary from one specific Native American nation to the next.

Having a spirit animal is definitely not necessary. And how to find, be found by, or meet, one's spirit animal can vary as well. Some methods are based (again, loosely in many cases) on Native American practices, while others are more based on things like directed visualization during meditation.

Some say one must call their spirit animal, while some say it comes when it is needed. Others suggest they come and go, or change, or different animals fill the role based on situation.

I would suggest scrutiny and examination of your own tradition and practice, and consideration about whether a spirit animal is something which is necessarily included.

Spirit animals match with our personalities. Ask your spirit animal to show themselves to you; as you discover yourself more you will realize it. You may get signs also, keep your eyes open.

Trust me, you will realize it when you are ready. Don't hurry, otherwise you may have to learn patience as a mandatory, either if you want it or not. Personally I had to pass through two different spirit aninals to discover mine.

One thing is granted; if you want to discover your spirit animal, you will; sooner or later. Don't push it to much, you will make it worse. Just be open and acceptable.
