The Debate of Magic

Hello, I have studied magic, particularly Wicca and Greek for a very long time (years). I have casted spells before but not really for any specific purpose as I never knew what exactly to do. I now go by my beliefs and no specific path and I think I am ready to try spell craft as I think I have a grasp on what to do but I think I have a small problem believing. I believe strongly but not entirely because I have never done it, should I start now or should I keep trying to push myself into further belief like I've been doing for the past 3 years??

It sounds like you have a psychological need for proof for you to go further into your craft and that is perfectly alright. This is a common thing that happens to people of all walks of life and magickal paths, and skepticism can be healthy in many situations. I myself approached my craft with a level of skepticism at first but was able to conquer that with time, study, and trust - in myself, my dieties, and the universe.

My suggestion would be to meditate more on this, and really adopt the idea of trusting that your dieties and/or the universe will work with you and your spell(s) to inspire the change you are desiring. Just work on that idea of trust. You are building a spiritual relationship between yourself and higher power, and in time, that bond only grows. It may feel uncomfortable, or you may have an aversion due to your trust being betrayed in the past but recognize that trusting a higher power (or consciousness) in no way is like trusting a human being. It's a spiritual trust and acceptence and is very personal. So meditate a bit more on this and see how far you can go.

Also when it comes to your endeavors in spell crafting, I say go for it! Find something you truly desire - even if it's not material. This could be peace within the home, at social functions, it could be a desire to inspire change within the self! Create a spell, trust in the universe and yourself (and your higher powers if applicable), and see how it goes!

A good book, I read, once told me: "Skeptic casting yields skeptical results."
