Hello Everyone ^^

I am extremely new to witchcraft, i've always been completely fascinated by the idea of it and am going to try and practice spells. I've read a lot of beginner tips and stuff so now I actually just have to do it. Which beginner spells should I try?

Witchcraft isn't something that runs in my family or something that any of my friends are interested in so I'm glad i've found a community to come to for help whenever needed. :)

If you are still very new to magic, I'd suggest waiting until you've practiced the basics for a bit before diving into spell casting. Having a solid understanding of them can help increase your odds of successful spell work later on.

That said, protection spells and shielding are very simple and might prove a bit easier to start with.

I agree with Misanthropy. The fundamentals are one of the most important parts of magick, and you can never study them enough. Good luck, and I hope your dog is okay.

Healing spells can be rather simple too. Depending on what it is you are trying to achieve. It was what I started with. Best of luck!

If you're serious about learning how to do magic and with starting from the rock-bottom then you don't start out by casting spells, you start out by learning how and why magic works.

You see, there is no such thing as an "easy" spell or a "beginner" spell. One either understands how magic works and has mastered the basics...in which case the magic will work..or you haven't done that sort of work..and no spell will work no matter how "easy" it seems.

Casting a successful spell involves much more than finding some spell on the internet or in a book, saying some words, lighting a candle, waving a wand of any of that sort of thing. In order for magic to work you need to understand how and why it works in the first place. Grounding and centering, visualization, focus and intent, energy manipulation, etc are all necessary first steps to even begin to have a chance at a spell actually working...and more importantly to prevent a spell from back-firing on you.

So, my advice for anyone who is truly serious is to start by reading a few books and practicing the exercises those books will give you. Once you have mastered the basics you won't need anyone to give you spells, you'll be able to create your own spells that will be far more effective than anything you find on the net. Here's the books I suggest:

"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman

"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar

"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig

And the following links in this thread will also help you learn the basic skills necessary for effective spellwork.

if you have studied all of 'the basics' and feel you are ready, you could start with a simple candle spell. take a candle of a corresponding colour [say green for a money spell or yellow for a friendship spell. if you don't have any coloured candles go with white] hold the candle, visualize your desired outcome, and feel energy entering your body [i usually feel it around my shoulders] and feel the energy traveling down your arms and pooling into the candle [the candle should feel warm] when you fee ready, light the candle and continue to visualize the desired outcome as the candle burns. i suggest using a tea light as they burn rather quickly, but you could always try snuffing out the candle when your mind starts to wander and relighting it the next day. this can be beneficial as you would be adding more energy to your spell. your choice. [also, some say you should only use one candle for one spell and not for multiple spells, i say use your judgement. personally i've used the same candle for different spells once or twice and it's been fine, just cleanse the candle before using it, or stick to the same type of spellwork like the same green candle for all money spells]
