Yeah, you need a certification, I think.

I doubt she was arrested solely for doing tarot readings, it is more likely that she:

  • Wasn't declaring money earned
  • Was know by the police as a fraud
  • Was not a permit/licence holder (in some places this is necessary)
  • Was running a business out of a residential building illegally

Mrs Maples Psychic Reader. Oklahoma law makes it a misdemeanor to either pretend or profess to tell fortunes for a charge or to receive any gift or donation.

Wow, that's insane. I'm surprised that's a law. I'm also surprised somebody actually enforced it.

This has always been known as the middle bible belt. I have been on a few sites and asked questions and been banned after one question. Now Catechism classes sow up on my page feed even after cleaning browser and a few e-mails.

There is a lot more to this story.

This isn't her first arrest. She was arrested for fraud some years ago and had multiple warrants out for her arrest including grand theft, theft and conspiracy and then fled. She was found some years later in another state and was arrested and was extradited for those charges. She is scammer pure and simple.

Telling people they have ailments and that she could cure them for X amount of dollars is scamming in my book.

Arrested for simple tarot reading? Nah.
