I recently got exposed to it. I didn't know there are people who still consider the earth to be flat. What do you think of the flat earth society? Could the 'moon landings' really been a hoax?
They are interesting conspiracy theories, nothing more.
The pictures taken by satellites of the earth and other planets clearly show that they are round, not flat.
If the earth were indeed flat then we would at some point come to the end of it and either turn around and fall off. Yet if we head east or west and keep going we eventually come back to where we started. That would only happen if the earth is round.
Oh, and to explain what you meant by FES for those who are not aware of the meaning, it is the Flat Earth Society.
I have actually met and talked with astronauts who walked on the moon. The moon landings were very, very real. If you were to go to the moon now you would find both the equipment we left behind and the footprints of those astronauts.
Thank you miss Lark for the clarification. I personally think most flat earthers do know that the earth is a sphere or that it can only be 'scientifically' proven to be a sphere. What they try to do (or atleast that's what i think) is show that the evidence around a single individual (the enviroment and visuals) point to a flat earth not a round earth. It would be silly of them to deny the moon landings, unless ofcourse they do it deliberately. Also about the 'edge' of the earth they do explain that and amazingly satisfactorily (though i also think they do this not because they actually think it can be 'scientifically' proven). The same applies to your point of circumnavigation as well.
Flat earthers will go on at length about how so much is all a series of conspiracies meant to control people. But they can never answer with any real logic how telling lies about the shape of the earth controls the masses any more or less than the hidden government superpower overlord conspirators could do if the earth were round, gravity were real, and all of these other long-stretch tales they like to tell.
